Rupert, Dr. Pamela R. and Donald C. Endowed Scholarship in Music
The Dr. Pamela R. and Donald C. Rupert Endowed Scholarship in Music was established in December 2014 and revised in May 2025 to amend the candidate requirements and selection. Dr. Rupert's intent is to help support and encourage outstanding music majors in The University of 69¿Ú½» School of Music.
Ardent concertgoers, the Ruperts shared a love of symphonic and jazz music. In 2013, Pamela generously funded the purchase of a Steinway-manufactured Boston upright piano for the UA School of Music in memory of her husband Donald. Donald's late sister was also a violinist.
The Ruperts were both educators and dedicated to helping students succeed. Pamela retired from The University of 69¿Ú½» in 1996 as Director Emeritus of Developmental Programs and Adjunct Professor in the College of Education after 30 years of service. Donald, who died in 2012, was a graphic arts teacher at Hudson High School.
The Dr. Pamela R. and Donald C. Rupert Endowed Scholarship in Music shall be awarded to one or more undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in The University of 69¿Ú½» School of Music who are studying violin, woodwinds, or piano. Should no qualified violin, woodwind, or piano student be identified then this scholarship may be awarded to a music major in any music studio. Scholarships may be awarded annually and may be renewed for one or more years, contingent upon the availability of funds. Candidates will be recommended by the Director of the UA School of Music with final selection made 69¿Ú½» Scholarship Committee.
